XGrass, a full-service leading supplier of synthetic turf, is pleased to announce Chris Cote as Vice President – Sports Development for their new division PerformX Field. Chris has sported the XGrass colors for the past three years and is thrilled to tackle this new role.

Chris has been a decorated athlete in the sports world since playing lacrosse for Division III powerhouse Washington College in Chestertown, MD. Chris was a two-time All-American and helped lead the Shoremen to two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, including a semifinal berth in 1994. His leadership on the field earned him Centennial Conference Player of the Year and the Washington College Outstanding Senior Athlete award in 1994. In 1996, he played lacrosse professionally in the Major Indoor Lacrosse League (MILL) for the Charlotte Cobras in Charlotte, NC. He continues to stay involved with the sport and coaches locally in North Carolina.

“We are aggressively hitting the sports field market and are excited to have the drive and expertise that Chris possesses to lead the team,” noted Ron Bennett, the President XGrass. “He has a broad range of knowledge in synthetic turf and installation combined with the training of a professional athlete.”

According to Chris, “I truly believe that synthetic turf is the best playing surface for many sports including lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, football and indoor training facilities. The major players in the synthetic turf field business seem to have the mindset that if we put one type of field, all sports will be serviced appropriately. We are actively searching for which surface construction is the right construction for a given sport. For example, playing lacrosse on a field designed for football will affect the amount of energy required to get that ball to bounce, which can result in a decrease in velocity. We are taking these types scenarios into consideration when working with customers that need a multi-sport field.”

“PerformX Field is exactly the direction I have been looking to grow. The chance to work with clients on athletic fields, which is such a key element to the game, is very appealing to me. The ability to do this with XGrass, a company I already consider family, makes this the ideal opportunity” states Chris.

The PerformX Field division continues to expand at a rapid pace. PerformX Field has industry-leading synthetic turf systems for fields of any shape or size – and for any sport. Standard artificial turf fields by PerformX feature inlaid permanent sports lines and custom logos and graphics, installed by a team of experts.
